"The Research Repository underpins the University’s research strategy in two main ways: firstly making research outputs Open Access via the Research Repository enables them to be viewed more often and cited more frequently and acts as a showcase of Middlesex research. Secondly the repository also contributes to the prestige and income of the University. Key research outputs (such as journal articles) which the University wishes to include in the next REF must be deposited in the repository on acceptance for publication and made discoverable and large research funders are increasingly including Open Access requirements in their grants conditions. The post holder is responsible for managing and developing the University Research repository and other software systems containing research outputs, theses and research data; drafting and maintaining strategy and policies for their operation; providing expert advice and training for their use; and ensuring compliance with access conditions. These activities support the University’s research strategy and make an important contribution to increasing research income and impact. ..."
