Abstract: Despite the growth of numerous open and free tools for creating, curating, and publishing content on the Internet, the process of authoring and publishing scholarly journals remains an expensive, time-consuming process that can require significant up-front investment and technical expertise. Annotum, an open source, open access, open process authoring and publishing system based on WordPress, provides a simple, free tool for creating peer-reviewed scholarly journals online.
