Google's English: "The fifth part of the SURFshare series sees the developments in the Netherlands and worldwide in the field of sharing research data. This fifth publication in the SURFshare series deals with the sharing of research data. Previously, scientists could only textual sources, distribution and sharing, but thanks to the Internet there are immense opportunities added. Think of digitized images of artifacts excavated by archaeologists, or a massive database of human genes are described. The Internet then offers the possibility to store data and share with colleagues across the world which dates to work. There is still more: adding images, video or audio material will not only the communication between scientists change, but science itself is a radical change - a paradigm shift - can undergo. It is for researchers is far from obvious that they share data with a small group of fellow researchers or students, let alone the world. Reasons of privacy or fear of abuse of their data still prevents many others for access to their data, not to mention discussions on the legal ownership of data and / or databases. This publication explains what has already been undertaken in this area. Existing Dutch and international initiatives are described, results from studies summarized and let publishers and financiers to talk about the role they expect to play in sharing research data. This publication also contains the main results of the work package 'access to research data " SURFshare from the program...."
