"In order to strengthen European cooperation in the social sciences, to allow French researchers, German, British and Dutch work together to design the best possible research projects, ANR, DFG, ESRC and NWO launched the 4th edition of the call for joint research projects ORA. This program is intended to allow the financing of research projects built between at least two partners from the four participating countries (except the French-German bilateral projects in the humanities and social sciences, which continue to be funded under the bilateral program ANR-DFG and therefore are not eligible for this call). Participating agencies will conduct a coordinated expertise and conduct a common selection. Partners will be funded by their national agency, in accordance with its usual funding rules (with some exceptions detailed in the call text). As part of this call is open to all topics and all the social sciences, the disciplinary coverage may vary depending on the agencies involved in the funding application. Projects can be submitted throughout the field of social sciences, as defined by each agency. When in doubt, it is advisable to interested researchers to contact their National Agency to verify eligibility of their project. As part of this edition, a special opportunity for co-financing with Japan is available to interested researchers: the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) has set up a call for specific projects to fund research associated with NRS projects."
