While Ars is a technology-focused site, we have always recognized that science helps lay the foundations for technological advances. Organized coverage of science news here dates back well over a decade, and it got its own dedicated section in 2005. Over the past decade, we've worked hard to maintain the quality of coverage that Ars readers expect, providing technical details and analysis that you won't find in many other places.

We couldn't be happier to announce that we're taking major steps to strengthen and expand our science coverage at Ars.

The first area you'll see more of is medicine and healthcare. There's a strong interplay between these fields and technology, from the increased health data we're getting from our personal gadgetry to the mind-blowing things that are done every day in the biotechnology industry. And on their own, medical issues like public health and emerging diseases—as well as their policy implications—are both fascinating and significant.
