EPA's Partial Retreat on Cost-Benefit Analysis

Center for Progressive Reform 2019-05-22

Summary:

Andrew Wheeler's apparent retreat on a specific effort to undercut environmental rules is good news. It's heartening that he listened to the concerns raised by CPR and others that various environmental statutes impose different requirements, making a one-size-fits-all approach to cost-benefit analysis both impractical and unlikely to survive legal challenge. But when Wheeler talks about improving the process, the real objective is to let industry pump more pollution into our air and water, favoring industry profit of Americans' health.
