Center For Open Science - Transparency and Openness Training Coordinator

"The Center for Open Science (COS) develops free, open source tools to support the scientific workflow (i.e., Open Science Framework), fosters community standards and efforts for open practices, and conducts metascience research - science on scientific practices.  We will hire a passionate trainer with experience in open and transparent research practices to train, support, and foster open, reproducible research practices across the sciences. The coordinator will help support the Center’s efforts towards increasing OSF adoption by individual researchers and universities, as well as help current users take advantage of the full suite of OSF features for openness and reproducibility. All training and created materials are free and openly licensed.The training coordinator must have strong social and organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate with researchers from a broad range of scientific domains.  This position is appropriate for recent or past Master’s students with past experience in curriculum development and training.

Responsibilities:

The training coordinator will provide active, hands-on consultation for open, transparent, and reproducible best practices in tools and research workflows. This includes short-term visits to universities, departments, and laboratories; lectures and training at conferences; virtual consulting and webinars; and development and maintenance of education materials and practical guides for distribution. Trainings will include open science, reproducibility practices, and open source research tools. The training coordinator will assist in forming and maintaining COS’s best practices for reproducible research, coordinate and grow our onsite and virtual training offerings, and collaborate with the whole COS team in making its infrastructure and products accessible, useful, and applicable to scientists across research disciplines."
