Paul Leonard Library at San Francisco State University invites applicants for a tenure-track Senior Assistant or Associate Librarian position to fulfill a combination of responsibilities, primarily in research and instructional services with liaison responsibilities to departments in either STEM-related disciplines (physical sciences, engineering, mathematics) or biological and health sciences beginning spring 2017. "Desired Qualifications:
- At least two years of professional post-MLS academic library experience, including professional responsibilities for group instruction and research assistance.
- Undergraduate, graduate degree or equivalent training/work experience in the biological, health or physical sciences, engineering or mathematics.
- Knowledge and experience with collection development supporting university curricula
- Active involvement in professional development activities with a record of scholarly contributions and achievements in the profession.
- Knowledge of the research process and evolving models of scholarly communication, open access, data management, and other trends in information science.
- Familiarity with disciplinary electronic databases and major reference works
- Experience with web authoring, distance teaching & learning, and use of social media.
- Strong analytical and proactive problem solving skills.
- Reading knowledge of one or more non-English languages."
