Summary:

Abstract: "E-books play an important role in library collections; however, the sheer number of books and the nature of access models, such as limited simultaneous use, create some significant challenges for their discovery and access. For this column we asked Nettie Lagace from the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) to tell us about some of the work NISO has been doing in this area and highlight some of the initiatives designed to provide more interoperability among parties in the e-book supply chain."
