Summary:

"Working with the Senior Administrator, the Event Coordinator will take responsibility for planning and delivering a successful Global Summit in Q2 2018. You will also support the development and implementation of the Institute for Open Leadership conference also in Q2 2018, which is a smaller event for approximately 30 people, as well as support in person staff meetings. You will liaise with various stakeholders to secure logistics to create these dynamic and memorable events with the support of the Creative Commons planning committee. You will work collaboratively and engage diverse viewpoints to develop and execute these events. This contribution will be vital to the success of the organization and our global community.

The successful candidate must be organized and flexible. The ability to come up with creative solutions to obstacles and problems is essential.

The Event Coordinator will:

  • Coordinate visa requirements and visa support letters for delegates
  • Support the event chairs and committees on shaping the program, seeking speakers, and constructing a schedule for the event.
  • Support the development team in securing sponsors and funding for the summit
  • Do venue and other research if applicable
  • Work with the venue to arrange catering and technical delivery such as wifi, streaming and recording of sessions and speakers
  • Manage a scholarship program, which will provide subsidy funding to community attendees
  • Conduct event volunteer training prior to the event as well as coordinate volunteers during the event.
  • Prepare promotional materials for printing such as lanyards, t-shirts, name tags, and more
  • Prepare a post-event summary to ensure transfer of knowledge for future events"
