Assistant Librarian for Scholarly Communications Job Opening in Syracuse, New York - INSIGHT Into Diversity

"Brief Summary of Duties:

• Collaborate with others and work individually to plan, implement, coordinate, promote and assess a variety of local scholarship related informational and instructional materials and models, and maintain an archive of all instructional materials developed for this purpose.
• Serve as the Libraries' principal resource in the planning, management, and coordination of the intake and making accessible local scholarship.
• Develop services to enhance access to local scholarship.
• Help faculty and students discover, curate, utilize and maintain research data. 
• Provide support for researchers in design and implementing data management plans as required by funding agencies.
• Work closely with the Director of College Libraries and other colleagues to investigate and implement new digital technologies and research tools that would support local scholarship initiatives.
• Maintain a research guide and write reports and reviews related to local scholarship.
• Develop, coordinate and implement group and one­on­one instructional opportunities for the students, faculty, librarians, staff, and administration on topics such as, and not limited to, inputting scholarship into the repositories, data management planning, file and citation management.
• Actively participate in college wide initiatives to develop and design services, policies, and infrastructure to enable students and faculty to discover, manage, analyze, present, and archive local scholarship.
• Keep Director of College Libraries informed about developments that may require changes in library resource allocations and/or services.  
• Monitor development and trends in new repository and metadata practices, tools and standards adopted by government agencies and domain groups.
• Participate in systematic assessment that supports information literacy learning outcomes."
