"For understanding the value of Academia.edu, we must not only focus on the positive effects but also at the negative consequence. What is the worst case for academia? The worst-case is, if the envisioned future of openscience will be reality. Then the website will be overrun by millions of non-academics who are starting to fake the science-process."
