"The British Library is seeking to appoint a Project Lead for its contribution to FREYA (Connected Open Identifiers for Discovery, Access and Use of Research Resources), a 36-month project with a budget of €5m funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme. FREYA will contribute to the development of a robust environment for a wide range of Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) to support provenance and recognition for research work. Its mission is to enable the emergence of a trustworthy e-infrastructure so that the potential of (Open) Science can be fully exploited. FREYA will play a key role in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). As a partner in FREYA, the British Library is focusing on integrating PIDs into its services, supporting the global PID infrastructure, providing training and working with academic communities (in particular in the humanities) to increase the use of PIDs. The post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the British Library’s contributions to FREYA, coordinatingthe work of Library staff across participating departments, collaborating with consortium partners to contribute to the development of services related to PIDS and working with academic communities, in particular the (digital) humanities to increase the uptake of PIDs."
