No deal after Netherlands negotiation

Summary:

"Our Commercial Director, Dan Dyer, explains that following further rounds of discussion and exploration of a range of options, the VSNU consortium in the Netherlands has indicated they are unwilling to accept any of the offers open to them.

The negotiation between the VSNU and the Royal Society of Chemistry has not just been about access to our journals content – it is about an agreement that makes the transition to Open Access sustainable. It is disappointing that the offers we have presented were rejected, however, we recognise that the chemistry community in the Netherlands values our content and we remain hopeful that a future deal is still possible.
