The costs of open access papers should not be the responsibility of individual researchers

"To force scientists to take responsibility for the full cost of making their papers open access is not reasonable. As a scientist, such a requirement would increase my expenditure by about 45 000 Euros per year and finding that extra cost from my budget would mean cutting back on important research."
