U of A Offers Faculty Incentives to Reduce Textbook Costs | University of Arkansas

"FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In an effort to make education more affordable for students by reducing the cost of textbooks, University Libraries and the Global Campus have partnered to offer incentives to faculty for adopting and creating open educational resources. The deadline to apply for these incentives is Feb. 15, 2017.

Open educational resources promote the use of textbooks and other materials for free or at a minimal charge. By collaborating to create high-quality shared texts, the academic community can dramatically lower the cost of textbooks and class materials for the students they teach. Up to ten awards will be available for the 2016-17 academic year."
