"llinois State University's Milner Library seeks an innovative, dynamic, visionary librarian for the tenure-track faculty position of Scholarly Communication Librarian at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. This position is responsible for guiding and leading the Library and the University in building upon the ACRL definition of scholarly communication such that efforts will include the development and implementation of programming and instruction related to author rights, copyright, open access/traditional publishing, disciplinary repositories and compliance with public access requirements for federally funded research. The successful candidate is expected to maintain their knowledge about national and international publishing trends, bibliometrics, intellectual property rights, copyright, and information technologies influencing the development of and access to scholarly information.

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Information Assets, the Scholarly Communication Librarian will interact, consult, and collaborate with, faculty, and staff in addition to external departments and programs such as the Graduate School, Office for Research and Sponsored Programs, Office of Research Ethics and Compliance, the University Research Council and others to offer outreach opportunities about scholarly communication initiatives. "
