New OA-agreement with the Institute of Physics: News from the library: Library: Linköping University

"The library has joined a national agreement for reimbursement of publishing costs for Open Access publishing in Institute of Physics (IoP) journals.

Refunds of up to 90% of the article processing charge (APC) occur when an article where the corresponding author is LiU affiliated is published in one of the 48 IoP hybrid journals.

As an article is accepted by a journal, the corresponding author will receive an offer to publish the article Open Access, at a cost of GBP 1700, with the possibility of reimbursement at a later date. The library will then receive a deduction on its subscription charge for IoP journals with up to 90% of the cost of the APC’s paid during the period. The money refunded to the library will be refunded authors.

Note that if you have funding from EU or Swedish funders, then their open access requirements mean that you must accept IoP’s OA offer.

Repayment schedule:

• Repayment will be made in February 2018 for articles published between January and September 2017
• Repayment will be made in February 2019 for articles published between October 2017 and September 2018
• Repayment will be made in February 2020 for articles published between October 2018 and September 2019
• Repayment will be made in 2020 for articles published between October 2019 and December 2019

The requirements are that the publication takes place in one of IoP’s hybrid journals, that the corresponding author is LiU-affiliated and states "Linköping University" in the address field of the article. Pure (Gold) Open Access journals are not included."
