Preserving Legal Scholarship Using LawArXiv | LIPA: Legal Information Preservation Alliance

"In case you missed it, LIPA will sponsor a webinar in celebration of Preservation Week on Thursday, April 27, at 2:00 pm EDT.

LawArXiv is an emerging collaborative initiative of the Legal Information Preservation Alliance, the Mid-America Law Library Consortium, the NELLCO Law Library Consortium, and the Cornell Law Library. The Center for Open Science serves as the technology partner and hosts the LawArXiv repository through the Open Science Framework. The LawArXiv mission is to empower the scholarly legal community and champion open access principles by ensuring community ownership of legal scholarship. The project has been in the planning stages for several months and is expected to launch within the next few weeks. 

The webinar will highlight the importance of open access law repositories and the features of the new LawArXiv platform. There will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions. Christine Iaconeta (Law Library Director, University of Maine) will moderate the program. Presenters are Jean Wenger (Chair, LIPA Board), Corie Dugas (Executive Director, MALLCO), Tracy Thompson (Executive Director, MALLCO), and Margaret Ambrose (Access & Research Services Librarian, Cornell Law Library).

There is no charge for the webinar, and it is open to all who are interested. We hope you will join us live, but the webinar also will be be recorded for later viewing."
