bioRxiv (pronounced 'bio-archive') is a free online archive of biology research papers - into a more easy-to-use web-friendly format, such as XML. This will make the article more readable on smartphones and tablets, but also more suitable for text mining - an approach increasingly used for scientific analysis.

BioRxiv is a preliminary version of the research paper biology hub, it has announced that it will start to get 'significant' financial support from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), which is Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg (Mark Zuckerberg) and his doctor wife Priscilla Chan charitable work undertaken.  Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, executive director and co-founder of three years, John Terry Ellis (John Inglis) said that years of financing - funding has not been disclosed - will pay bioRxiv employees, technology development and other infrastructure . The site last week released the first 10,000 copies of the manuscript.  Chan and Zuckerberg in 2015 founded the CZI, a year later, providing support for basic research of $ 3 billion in commitments, aimed at healing, prevention and management of childhood life of 'all diseases.' Inglis said: 'They are interested in anything to accelerate the pace of research, and bioRxiv from the outset in their place.'"
