Summary:

"Sharing of open data across the government and private sectors has a potential AED 10.4 billion annual Gross Value Added impact on Dubai’s economy by 2021.

That’s according to the Dubai Data Economic Impact report released by the Dubai Smart Office with financial and advisory firm KPMG. The report says that shared government data alone could have a value-added impact of AED 6.6 billion annually by the same time frame. Authorities say the exchange of public data will help government departments improve their decision-making processes, develop policies and implement strategic initiatives. CEO of Dubai Data Younus Al Nasser told ARN that shared data initiatives will also inform businesses about opportunities in the private sector."
