Summary:

"We would like to let all the BAHIANA Journals webportal  users – authors, reviewers and readers – know that the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) is the official maintainer of the Open Journals System (OJS). Since 1998, PKP has been the source, developer, and maintainer of Open Journal Systems (OJS), Open Monograph Press, Open Conference Systems, Open Harvester Systems, and related software and services.

In 2014, PKP has obtained  trademark registrations for key terms — such as Open Journal SystemsOpen Conference SystemsOpen Monograph PressPublic Knowledge Project — with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.

PKP’s software is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL) which gives users the freedom to run, study, share, and modify their software. The GPL also requires that any derivative software must also be GPL licensed and, if distributed in any form, made available for free. Any other claims of ownership and attempts to make revenue off the open source publishing system are not in line with the GNU General Public License (GPL) nor with the Open Access and Open Science movements and should therefore be disregarded.

If you have been receiving emails claiming otherwise, please ignore them.

Read the full PKP statement on online harassment here."
