Summary:

"The Cultural Association cheFare is publishing this notice, promoted together with the Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione Cariplo, with the aim to award a cash prize for authors of two processed digital format that use 9 data sets in Open Date format to represent the phenomenon of innovative projects in the cultural field in Italy.

The starting point is the construction of an archive in Open Data format on a specific area: the new projects in the field of cultural innovation in Italy. In the last five years the notices promulgated by the three promoters have contributed not only to fund an increasing number of new cultural organizations, but also to the emergence of a huge underground wealth of practices that are redefining nationwide how to design, produce and distribute the culture.

The transformative potential of the application of open data philosophy to the cultural sector is huge.

Detailed knowledge and accessible information in relation to existing projects and sectors where they are located practices can enable a clearer definition of governance capabilities, research and market to multiple parties (companies, associations, regulators, policy makers, universities , civil society), and in order to make efficient strategies for both the identification and the linking of new public through the structuring of connections between different worlds until now not in contact with each other.

A key step to building a public culture of open data is not limited to the release of high-quality data and undertake instead a data disclosure through communicable valorization pathways that could be useful to the maximum possible number of subjects."
