"The first edition of the Francophone African Conference on Open Data (CAFDO) was held in the capital of Burkina Faso from 1 to 03 June 2017. Under the chairmanship of Hadja Fatimata Ouattara, Minister for Development of the Digital Economy and Posts of Burkina Faso, this Francophone African conference is planning to launch a new vision on open data and to strengthen the capacities of Francophones on the Mastering the issues related to data openness.

'Input of open data for the achievement of sustainable development objectives'. It was this theme that brought together in Ouagadougou several participants from Africa (Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Chad, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Madagascar, DRC, etc.), Canada and Brazil in particular. These open data professionals (Open Data) have shared their experience and know-how for three days.

The opening ceremony was marked by a presentation by CAFDO by Malick Tabsoba, principal organizer and also Director of training and promotion of the National Agency for the Promotion of Information and Communication Technologies (ANPTIC) ."
