Summary:

"Edinburgh University Library (Library & University Collections) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced individual to fill the newly-created post of Open Access Publishing Officer which will focus on developing the Library’s open access publishing activity.

You will be the main point of contact for the University’s existing open access publishing platform, Edinburgh Open Journals, which supports a portfolio of academic and student-led journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS).

You will review the existing service, contribute to the development of a service strategy and develop good practice guidance to ensure new and existing journals meet quality standards. You will also support journal editors in marketing their journals to maximise readership. Experience of liaising effectively with technical teams to deliver projects, co-ordinate development work, manage system upgrades or roll out service changes is essential.

In addition, we are looking for someone to explore the potential for the Library’s role in eTextbook publishing and who can identify opportunities to engage with academic staff and students in order to develop new Library-led open access publishing services and initiatives, which support teaching and learning."
