"Digital Collections Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operation of the institutional repository (IR), including adding, editing, and maintaining appropriate content from across the university, communicating with stakeholders from across the university, training other library team members on use and workflows, assessing functionality of the IR, and recommending changes for continuous quality improvement. • Ensure digital objects and metadata are of high quality according to relevant digital library and archival best practices. • Collect, analyze, and report IR usage data. • Monitor developments in scholarly communications, open access, repository trends, copyright, fair use, and related initiatives while communicating their implications to library and university stakeholders. • Coordinate library consortium IR activities and work with counterparts at other libraries on managing and promoting IRs.  • Supervise library staff and student employees working on IR or other digital initiatives as needed. • Manage related projects and initiatives as appropriate.

Outreach Responsibilities: • Lead library efforts in promoting and advocating for the IR including seeking out contributors, publicizing the IR’s benefits and uses, and cultivating communication with stakeholders and content providers. • Coordinate and provide training and workshops for faculty, departments, research units, and students on the IR, open access, scholarly communications, copyright, and related topics.  • Serve as a library resource on copyright, fair use, and open access issues. • Collaborate with library subject specialists who serve as department liaisons to promote and market the repository. • Manage, promote, and evaluate the library’s open access fund.  • Conducts and contributes to departmental and library outreach when needed, such as presentations, exhibits, and publications."
