"The new Research and Scholarly Communications Manager will lead on the implementation and further development of both the University’s Open Access and Research Data policies to ensure we continue to raise levels of engagement and expand resources in these key areas to meet the needs of a globally significant, top 10 UK University.

You will ensure compliance with funder and HEFCE mandates while advocating the wider benefits of open access, promoting the benefits of good practice across the institution and creating an open dialogue on its importance. You will; • Lead the development of Lancaster University’s academic research impact service, managing and developing the Research and Scholarly Communications team; driving performance improvement through identification of efficient and effective practices and ensuring the design and delivery of feedback mechanisms to support service enhancement. • Demonstrate sound knowledge of the evolving scholarly communications domain in both the UK and beyond, especially in the context of the Open Access, Research Data Management and Identifiers agendas. • Be an experienced, flexible and enterprising manager, professionally qualified (or with demonstrable equivalent experience) with excellent team work, interpersonal and technical skills. You will have proven management experience or skills and demonstrable success in a service orientated organisation, including evidence of effective decision-making and successful management of change. • Have experience (or capability) of effectively leading, developing and managing the performance of a team of professional staff, including the development and deployment of stretching KPIs to ensure quality standards are consistently delivered against."
