Gastos Abertos abre inscrições para segundo ciclo de ação com novos líderes – Open Knowledge Brasil

"Do you want to do your part for transparency, especially the public budget of the municipality where you live? Then you can already sign up to be a leader of Open Spending ! After attending 150 municipalities in the first half of 2017, this Tuesday (August 22), Open Expenditure opens registrations for new leaders!

To participate in this second round of the game, interested parties can sign up for the Open Spots page on Facebook or on the website until 06/09 .

Most public managers promise and incorporate transparency of management into government programs, but there are still obstacles in the application of the Law on Access to Information (LAI) and the Transparency Law. The objective of the Open Expenditure initiative is to connect citizens with the public budget and change this reality. 'We promote civic education on transparency and the public budget in Brazilian municipalities. In this second cycle, we want to replicate the methodology of Open Expenditures in different municipalities, to increase the number of formed leaderships and transparency portals evaluated', says Thiago Rondon, Coordinator of Open Expenditures."
