Summary:

"William & Mary Libraries is seeking a creative, collaborative, and proactive Science Librarian.  The Science Librarian is a member of the Research Department at Earl Gregg Swem Library, and will cultivate partnerships that help the library understand and respond to student and faculty informational needs. The position serves as liaison to the sciences including chemistry, biology, physics, geology, and applied sciences.

A critical aspect of this position requires that the librarian be a strong presence in the campus science community, building and maintaining close relationships with faculty and students in order to meet their teaching, learning, research, and publication needs. The science librarian will provide direct support for teaching and learning by providing instruction sessions, workshops, web-based guides and tutorials, and targeted research services, through individual and group consultations.  S/he will also participate in collection development with responsibility for building and maintaining strong collections that reflect research and curricular needs.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to build expertise as part of William & Mary Libraries’ effort to advance scholarly communication and data management services; therefore, the successful candidate will have an interest in the extensive scholarly communications landscape including digital publishing, open access platforms, open educational resources, open data, copyright, and related intellectual property issues."
