Summary:

"UK faculty and students can now find and gain access to hundreds of curated free online textbooks by searching the library catalog.  Written by learned experts, the textbooks cover a wide spectrum of subjects and are freely available through the Open Textbook Library.  Thanks to the open licensing of the textbooks, anyone can download, use, and keep them without restrictions.  Instructors interested in adopting the textbooks for their courses can revise the content to suit their pedagogical needs without having to seek permission in advance.

Faculty and graduate students interested in teaching with free online textbooks (often referred to as open educational resources) are invited to attend a workshop to be hosted jointly by UK Libraries and CELT on Sept. 28th.  More information about it is forthcoming.  In the meantime, you can find out more about open educational resources from this guide or contact theacademic liaisons for your departments."
