The UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science was adopted in November 2021, at the 41th session of the General Conference of UNESCO. On 28 April 2022, during an online information meeting on the Implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, Member States of UNESCO and the UNESCO Open Science Partnership were informed about the strategy developed by UNESCO for the implementation of the Recommendation. As a part of this strategy, UNESCO is convening 5 ad-hoc Working Groups around 5 key impact areas related to Open Science. Experts and interested open science entities can contribute to UNESCO‘s work toward supporting the implementation of the Recommendation, by joining the Working Groups relevant to their field of expertise.
