Supporting response to California wildfires with open data | DigitalGlobe Blog

Summary:

"The wildfires devastating California are some of the worst in the state’s history. In Northern California, the fire has burned more than 120,000 acres, displaced thousands of residents and resulted in at least 21 deaths.

State and federal agencies as well as hundreds of emergency personnel and firefighters are working to contain the fire and provide humanitarian assistance to local residents. To support those efforts, DigitalGlobe is sharing imagery and critical data through our Open Data Program. Currently, DigitalGlobe is making satellite imagery for Santa Rosa, California, openly available and we could expand the area based on the fire’s activity."
