Summary:

"The founder of Sci-Hub – an anti-paywall website often dubbed the ‘Pirate Bay for Science’ – has refused to back down after losing three of major domain names this week.

The takedown operation came after the platform, which publishes scientific peer-reviewed research papers online for free, lost a court battle with the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Several of the domains used to access the service became unreachable Wednesday (22 November), TorrentFreak reported. Unlike prior outages, this appeared to be permanent."
