IST Austria: IST Austria welcomes expansion of the European Research Council (ERC)

Proposal of the EU Commission for the development of European top-level research as an important signal for strengthening Europe's research performance.

The figures on the EU financial framework for research and innovation for the years 2021 to 2027, presented by EU Research Commissioner Carlos Moedas in Brussels last week, are welcomed by the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (IST Austria). In particular, the planned endowment of the pillar "Open Science" within "Horizon Europe" with 25.8 billion euros is striking.
