"The Federal Ministry of Education and Research supports individual and joint projects in which curation criteria and quality standards are newly developed or extended, as they are necessary in the course of archiving and sharing research data on repositories. The supported projects should explicitly provide for a practical trial. With the help of the measure, the BMBF pursues the goal of promoting the efficiency of the scientific disciplines in terms of their data-based research in a broad-based way. 

Even scientific standards such as good scientific practice, such as data manipulation, data management or author / co-authorship, are under pressure to update and can be further developed.

Project-related personnel, material and travel funds are funded for a maximum of 36 months; not eligible for technical infrastructure expenditure. "
