During the conference we like to explore which services libraries can offer to support Open Science.

Open science is the movement to make scientific research, data and dissemination accessible to all levels of an inquiring society, amateur or professional.” (Wikipedia)

Open Science continues to become increasingly important for researchers as different funding agencies, like the European Union, start to require open access for research results.

Beyond Open Access and Open Research Data, other fields related to Open Science, like Open Methodology and Open Peer Review, are getting more attention. Therefore, the information management needs of researchers are changing. Libraries serving scientific organizations and patrons, are beginning to explore what new services to develop in order to support researchers in this new open environment. This new openness also has the potential to increase diversity and inclusion in research, addressing ethical issues relating to infrastructure and skills in the global south, and increasing the translation of research in global settings.

At the meeting in Austria we would like to focus on library services which go beyond the classical fields of Open Access and Research Data.

This could be the building of new types of networks, successful training measure for scientist and adoption of new tools. We are looking for innovative ways in which libraries are developing services to foster open science.
