Summary:

On October 2019, the Data Foundation and Deloitte published a report titled “Future of Open Data: Maximizing the Impact of the OPEN Government Data Act”. The report highlights how open data can help federal governments modernise their processes to meet the needs of policymakers and the American public. In addition, it states how agencies will need to address the different cultural and technical challenges in society to implement policies around open data and improve data governance.

The Future of Open Data report is divided into several sections. Firstly, the report provides a brief history of the US OPEN Government Data Act and what it entails, then elaborates on the statutory requirements for its implementation, shares insights from the Current Chief Data Officers, states the next steps and ends with the conclusion of the study.

The report is available online.
