Open Access and Plan S

Kirstine's bookmarks 2019-12-09

Summary:

From Google's English:

'Through the Internet, open access becomes more and more relevant as an alternative to the traditional types of publishing. The free access to research results simplifies and accelerates research, as well as giving the public the opportunity to inform themselves about the current state of research. But what is Open Access anyway, how is it implemented and where are the differences to traditional (non-free) publication types?

The talk also covers the Open Access Initiative "Plan S", which is supported by research sponsors and even supported by the European Commission. The topic should also be made accessible to those who do not know much about open access and the scientific publishing system.'
