"100% open access publications at the end of 2020: this is one of the ambitious objectives of the CNRS to strengthen its involvement in the global open science movement. “Like any revolution, this will not necessarily be done in a simple way. We will have to convince, at times impose, " warned its CEO, Antoine Petit, during a presentation of the action plan on November 18 during the National Days for Open Science.

Since the laboratories are mostly shared with universities, the CNRS does not intend to go it alone. "On a subject like that of open science, we have no difference in appreciation and we must act together," says Alain Schuhl, deputy director general for science and Antoine Petit's right hand.
