I costi della informazione scientifica. Possiamo parlarne? | ROARS

Summary:

[Google transl.] The costs of scientific information. Can we talk about it?

The debate on the cost of scientific information seems not to want to take off in Italy or is dealt with in a broken way by mixing themes such as open access and predatory journals, gold open access and green, and resorting to arguments and prejudices now outdated in every part of the world and frankly embarrassing. But how many of those who talk about these issues really know how much the institutions (at least their own) pay for scientific information? How many people know that outside national borders, rectors and administrators of institutions have engaged in a really tough fight against the demands of publishers? How many know that the scientific communities are so aware of the problems that they unconditionally support those who are delegated to negotiate even in hard actions such as no deal?
