Summary:

[Google transl.]EU budget post 2020: Universities call for changes to Horizon Europe

Increase Horizon Europe's budget to 160 billion euros and increase the interdisciplinarity of funded projects. These are some of the amendments proposed by 13 university associations to the proposal for a regulation of the ninth framework programme for research and innovation.

13 academic associations sent Dan Nica, rapporteur for the Horizon Europe Regulation for the European Parliament, a letter with a number of amendments to the proposal for a Regulation of the Ninth Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, presented on 7 June by the EU Commission.

The 13 associations (EUA, Aurora, CESAER, Coimbra Group, EARMA, EASSH, ECIU, EUA, The Guild, IDEA League, LERU, SEFI, UNICA and YERUN) are convinced that Horizon Europe can contribute to Europe's ambitions and strengthen its values, but a number of changes are needed to the European Commission's proposal, starting with the increase in EU research and innovation funds.
