Summary:

Google English: "BMBF supports open access project of ZB MED.

SynOA-PUB is a project aimed at expanding and stabilizing open access publishing infrastructures. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has approved a project proposal from ZB MED - Information Center for Life Sciences. It provides third-party funding of around € 300,000. With the funds, the information center will continue to develop its open access publishing platform over the next two years and adapt it to the needs of various disciplines. The new tools enable researchers to quickly and qualitatively publish their results in Open Access.

At the beginning of the project, needs analyzes and expert interviews are conducted to identify requirements and technical possibilities for future-proof publication tools. These analyzes provide the next steps in the project: building an open access publishing platform for congress abstracts from the life sciences and other tools for books and magazines. The new offer is then available to researchers from all departments and thus supports interdisciplinary work.

All developments use the technical infrastructure of the ZB MED publication platform PUBLISSO as an example. The use of the existing system will exploit synergies. The development and maintenance effort remains correspondingly low."
