Launch of a new digital portal to accelerate Europe’s research and innovation success | eInfraCentral | Digital Single Market

"The EU-funded project eInfraCentral has recently launched the first version of a web platform dedicated to science and research. The purpose is to provide a single entry point through which Research communities can search, access and compare a multitude of services provided by e-Infrastructures. This portal has been designed to make life easier for researchers, encourage partnerships across disciplines and countries and encourage European excellence. e-Infrastructures address the needs of researchers for digital services in terms of networking, computing and data management and foster the emergence of Open Science . The new eInfraCentral Portal allows structuring an open discussion between the existing e-Infrastructures and providing a common language and catalogue for all their available services. It is crucial to capitalise on past e-infrastructure investments and develop an e-Infrastructure commons.

Thanks to the Portal, the researchers will be able to find information about a broad range of services they may be interested in; they can discover new ones, compare the various available service and assess the relevance of the offered services by rating them and leaving feedbacks. All of these actions on one single digital gateway! The catalogue of services offered by eInfraCentral has been mainly built on the experience and data of five major e-Infrastructure partners (GÉANT, EGI, EUDAT, OpenAIRE and PRACE). Another 30+ e-infrastructure projects are also now progressively integrated. The objective is to give visibility to these e-Infrastructures and Digital Marketplaces. Once a service is selected via the catalogue, the eInfraCentral portal redirects the researcher to the service provider or marketplace where the service can be accessed and ordered...."
