Summary:

Google English: "Sci-Hub, the hidden site that freed millions of scientific investigations

Never enter Sci-Hub and do not search on Google either. If they do, they can find a digital platform with more than 67 million science articles. If they know this page, they could read research on all the subjects they need, they would discover primary sources, they would know the work of the scientists and they would have access to knowledge that, otherwise, they would only find behind costly databases. So, please, never enter that page and never go to look for 'whereisscihub'.

-We do not want to invite people who pirate knowledge, right? -

Sci-Hub is a site of digital piracy that has access to more than 67 million scientific works and works thanks to the principle of Open Access, that is, they seek that all scientific research that is published is free to read. Open Access seeks to confront "unfair gains" that publishers obtain by creating economic limits to the distribution of knowledge.

The project is also against copyright laws. According to their page, these laws "limit the development of science in human society" because they restrict access to scientific or educational research. Then, starting in September 2011, Sci-Hub began publishing any article or research that finds and uses its system to completely bypass digital payment barriers and other restrictions.

According to its creator, Alexandra Elbakyan, the site tries to fight against the lack of equity in access to knowledge. According to their approaches, scientific knowledge must be open to anyone, regardless of their geographical location, social status or economic condition. Its mission is "to eliminate the barriers that prevent the massive distribution of knowledge in human society".

Those of the project have had their problems: they have received several demands and they have thrown the site to them other times more. Its creator -which they often compare with Aaron Swartz- is persecuted for fines of more than 15 million dollars, but a few years ago nobody knows where it is.

So, if it is the end of the year, if you want to know a little more, if you are curious or if you want to learn more about the Open Society, you know where not to look for scientific articles."
