Event celebrates 10 years of Lume, digital repository of the University

In 2018, Lume completes a decade of existence. To mark the 10 year anniversary, the University promotes the Seminar on Open Access and Sensitive Knowledge, on May 29, 2018. The event takes place in Room II of the Hall of Acts (Av. Paulo Gama, 110 - Campus Centro).

Recognized in Brazil and abroad, Lume is featured in the Ranking Web of University (Webometrics.com), which analyzes the relationship between presence and impact of content released on the internet from universities around the world. In the last evaluation of Webometrics, the UFRGS repository was listed as the second best in Latin America.

In the event, the speakers discuss with the public about the current state and perspectives of the open access movement; the functioning of the publication of journals in this model, covering financing models and maximizing visibility and impact; and copyright, addressing limitations and exceptions of Brazilian copyright law in digital environments, especially in relation to the production of academic-scientific papers.

Subjects related to sensitive knowledge, such as actions for the development of a culture of sensitive, confidential or strategic knowledge protection in universities, will also be dealt with, particularly with regard to the development of academic and scientific publications, as well as threats and measures of protection of knowledge produced in academic institutions.
