The tax administration has just announced today the holding of a hackathon dedicated to public financial data. It will be held on June 15 and 16 in the National Assembly.

The administration innovates! For the first time, the DGFiP (General Directorate of Public Finance) in partnership with the Budget Directorate, the National Assembly, the Court of Auditors and the DINSIC (Directorate of Digital and Information System and Communication of the State) organizes a hackathon.

This term usually refers to an event during which a group of volunteer developers come together for several days to do collaborative computer programming. This process is renowned for developing creativity through group dynamics and the establishment of a competition. This term is often used in the field of digital innovation.

Improve citizens' knowledge ¶

This hackathon, scheduled for Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the National Assembly will focus on public financial data. The objective of this event is to create tools allowing citizens to have a better knowledge of the major balances of public finances in order to objectify debates on public policies and their financing.

This event will create tools for understanding and analyzing the use of taxes and measuring the effectiveness of public policies. Other tools will help improve research support in the mass of public financial data.
