The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) was greeted cautiously by Europe's humanities and social science research networks. Skepticism about how to integrate their services into EOSC is too great. The research network OPERAS , which promotes an open science practice in the humanities and social sciences in Europe, took up this topic at its first annual conference on " Open Scholarly Communication in Europe: Addressing the Coordination Challenge ". It took place from 31 May to 1 June in Athens. Again and again it was to be heard at the meeting that the humanities and social sciences must speak with one voice. In this sense, Pierre Mounier, OPERAS co-coordinator and Deputy Director of OpenEdition , the French national infrastructure for open science communication in the humanities and social sciences, pointed out in his opening remarks that research infrastructures and networks do not compete, but instead should join forces.
