It opened this Wednesday, June 27 in Kinshasa, the work of the first 2018 training session on the principles and modalities of Open Data applied to governance in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Organized by the "PRRAP" Public Administration Reform and Rejuvenation Project, this training, which will last for 3 days, has the general objective of contributing through the appropriation of the principles and modalities of Open Data, to the improvement of the management or use of the information and communication systems put in place as part of the public administration reform.

The PRRAP coordinator at the opening ceremony, while noting that the world has become a global village thanks to the technological revolution, said that these advances have a legitimate interest, only if they contribute to improving the collective welfare.

"During these 3 days of training, it will not only be a question of sharing theoretical notions, but there will also be concrete case studies based on data sharing and dissemination platforms," said Jean-Paul. Mabaya.

All this will be beneficial to participants in this training, he added.

"This will allow participants to visualize the Open Data concept, particularly on the aspects of budget management of resource allocation and their distribution on a map so as to take ownership of the dynamics of development," said JP Mabaya, coordinator from PRRAP.

The Minister of State in charge of the public service, who gave the go of this formation, underlined that the opening of the data requires a consequent legislative framework, since any data is called to be opened.

"Moreover, the duty of openness requires an adequate IT infrastructure adapted to the evolution of the new Information and Communication Technologies," said Michel Bongongo.

"All of this is very much in line with my department's ambition of an open, transparent and accountability-based administration of public service users," he concluded.

Note also that take part in this training which will close on Friday, June 29, officials and agents of the public administration."
