"Call for participation in the EUA Open Science Survey

EUA has launched its 2020-2021 Open Science Survey. The aim is to gather a comprehensive view of institutions’ strategic and operational developments in the transition towards Open Science. The deadline to participate is 11 December 2020 [extended to January 2021]

In its sixth edition, the latest EUA Open Science Survey goes beyond open access to research publications and research assessment. For the first time, it takes an institutional perspective in order to collect information on the strategic importance and level of implementation of established areas of Open Science, like open access, and emerging ones, like citizen science and open education. The survey is an integral part of EUA’s work on Open Science and its outcomes will contribute to informing the Association’s future activities and priorities in this policy area.

The topic of Open Science continues to be high on political agendas at both national and EU levels. Open Science has seen many recent developments, such as its inclusion as one of the 14 key actions in the new European Commission Communication on “A new ERA for Research and Innovation”, and the creation of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). Furthermore, the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the recognition of Open Science as essential in tackling complex challenges. Universities need to be actively engaged in these policy processes, which have profound implications for how research is conducted, disseminated, re-used and assessed...."
