Summary:

The Rights Retention Strategy (RRS) is a key component of cOAlition S’s Plan S – it is based on a simple principle that the peer-reviewed Author Accepted manuscript (AAM) is the intellectual creation of the authors and belongs to them.

On submission of an article authors apply a prior CC BY licence to any AAM (Author Accepted Manuscript) arising from that submission.

The presentation will explain the purpose of the RRS and how this simple solution helps authors retain sufficient rights to use their own accepted manuscript. The online event will also clarify details around practical use of the RRS.
